The ZOZO Championship features a strong field this week, with many of the world’s Top 10 golfers expected in the field. Jon Rahm is the current betting favorite, although there is still a chance Dustin Johnson could test negative for the coronavirus and be a late addition. I am coming off a 2-2-1 week with the matchups at the CJ Cup. Let’s look at the matchups and picks for the ZOZO Championship.

Golf Matchup Picks

Patrick Reed -110 vs. Tyrrell Hatton

I think Reed is a solid play this week. He tied for 3rd in his last start in the BMW PGA Championship on the European Tour and he now leads the Race to Dubai standings. I think he will be in top form this week and I still think Hatton is due for a letdown. I thought Hatton would fall back to earth last week, but he rebounded in the final round to get a strong finish. I will take Reed in this matchup.

Matthew Wolff -130 vs. Viktor Hovland

It was kind of ugly last week for Wolff in Vegas, but this week he goes to a course he has played in his sleep. He went to high school near to Sherwood Oaks and I expect a strong showing from Wolff this week. Hovland is playing well, but I am going with Wolff in this matchup.

Russell Henley -115 vs. Jason Kokrak

Henley and Kokrak played well last week, but I think a letdown could be in store for Kokrak after he won his first PGA Tour title. Henley was in the lead entering the final round and just got lapped. I still like the way Henley is playing with three top 10 finishes in his last five starts. I will take Henley in this matchup.

Cameron Champ -110 vs. Jordan Spieth

I have done really well in the last couple of years going against Jordan Spieth. I will say upfront, that I am not thrilled with this matchup, but it is the only one involving Spieth. Champ doesn’t inspire a ton of confidence, but going against Spieth has been money in the bank, so I am not going to argue, although I am leery about the matchup this week.

Harris English -115 vs. Matthew Fitzpatrick

I thought Fitzpatrick would be a factor last week and he was nowhere to be found. Perhaps Fitzpatrick simply isn’t capable of taking the next step and winning on the PGA Tour. English has played well for over a year and he always seems to be high on leaderboards. I will take English in this matchup.

Adam Hadwin -115 vs. Kevin Kisner

I have no idea what Kisner is doing in this event. He has not played well in quite some time and he figures to have all kinds of problems on this course that features a number of par 5 holes. I will take Hadwin in this matchup.
