The last two weeks on the PGA Tour have featured stellar fields with a number of top players in the field, but this week the field is not as strong, with only one player in the Top 50 in the latest World Rankings in the field for the Bermuda Championship. Defending champion Brendon Todd is the only highly ranked player teeing it up this week but he is not listed as the favorite. Will Zalatoris is listed as the favorite at odds of 11-1, while Brendon Todd is the second choice at odds of 12-1. Let’s look at the Bermuda Championship odds and picks.

Course: Port Royal GC, Southampton, Bermuda

This course is a par 71 that measures 6,828 yards. It is a course designed by Robert Trent Jones and it hosted the Grand Slam of Golf in the past. Since the course is short, driver is not the key club this week. Last year the field hit over 54% of fairways and almost 67% of greens.

Favorite

Will Zalatoris 11-1

It should be only a matter of time before Zalatoris gets his first PGA Tour win, and maybe it comes this week, but I am not backing him as a favorite. The pressure is on Zalatoris who needs to get just three FedExCup points to earn special temporary PGA Tour membership. He has finished in the top 10 in three of his last four PGA Tour events. I know the field is weak, but I rarely take favorites, so I will look elsewhere.

Value Plays

Kristoffer Ventura 32-1

This should be the type of tournament where Ventura gets his first win. He has two top ten finishes this season. This field is not strong and Ventura should be in the mix on Sunday and we get him at odds of 32-1.

Justin Suh 40-1

You might not remember that Suh was the World No. Amateur just a short time back. He got injured just as he turned pro and struggled, but he seems to be healthy now. He has three straight top 25 finishes. This is a good spot for Suh against a weak field.

Peter Malnati 40-1

I think there is a lot of value on Malnait, as he was second at the Sanderson Farms and he tied for 5th at the Shriners. He has been putting really well and he can contend this week.

Henrik Norlander 45-1

If you look at the course at Sea Island it compares to this one in Bermuda and we know that Norlander did well at Sea Island. He seems to play well on coastal courses and this could be the week he thrives again and his odds are attractive at 45-1..

Tyler McCumber 50-1

Another player who does well on coastal courses is McCumber. Four of his five best finishes have come on coastal courses. He was in good position last year in this event but then did nothing in the final round to finish in a tie for 41st. There is no reason he can’t contend this week at odds of 50-1.
