Week 7 Best Bets
Uncover the best bets for Week 7! Our expert analysis and tips will help you make smart choices and boost your betting success this week.

It’s always nice to have a winning week, so I’m feeling good after putting up a 2-1 record in Week 6 of the NFL season. Both of my plays on sides were easy winners as the Green Bay Packers crushed the Arizona Cardinals 34-13 in Lambeau Field, and the Houston Texans made short work of the New England Patriots and won by 20 points although they were on the road. My lone loss of the week was a no doubter with Tampa Bay singlehandedly putting its tilt with New Orleans over the total. I have a path back to a winning overall record in sight, so let’s strike while the iron is hot.

Week 7 NFL Betting Odds and Picks

New England Patriots +6 at Jacksonville Jaguars

Doug Pederson is hanging on by a thread. Pederson is now the odds-on favorite per the NFL futures odds to be the next head coach fired, and he will almost certainly be fired if Jacksonville loses to New England in London. The Jaguars suffered a humiliating loss to Chicago in London last week, allowing rookie Caleb Williams to throw for four touchdowns in a 19-point loss.

There’s plenty of blame to go around, and some of it certainly falls on Trevor Lawrence. The No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft has just never turned the corner and lived up to his hype. Lawrence has been a league average quarterback throughout his 56 starts in the NFL, and he is putting up the same numbers he has in each of the last two seasons.

New England looked a little feisty in last week’s loss to Houston. Drake Maye can stretch the field with his arm in ways that Jacoby Brissett was unable, so this is just too many points for Jacksonville to be laying.

Cincinnati Bengals -6.5 at Cleveland Browns

We might be at a tipping point in Cleveland. The Browns have been atrocious on offense this season, losing four straight games. Cleveland has scored between 13 and 18 points in each game, as the Deshaun Watson trade and contract might go down as the worst deal of all time. The Browns are historically bad on third down, and Watson is averaging just 5.1 YPA while being sacked a whopping 31 times to this point.

This game being in Cleveland might not benefit the Browns at all. The fans will be quick to voice their displeasure if the offense struggles early, especially considering how potent Cincinnati has been on that side of the ball. The Bengals are still behind the eight-ball record-wise, so they won’t take their foot off the gas pedal.

New York Giants +3 vs. Philadelphia Eagles

Daniel Jones continues to show signs that he could be a league average quarterback. Jones is unlikely to receive a major extension this offseason, but it’s clear that the New York Giants could do worse. He hasn’t been as much of a running threat as we have seen in the past, yet he stands a pretty good chance of leading Big Blue to an upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 7.

Philadelphia continues to struggle on offense. Jalen Hurts has a lot of trouble reading blitzes and making the right decision, and the Giants rank first in the NFL in sack rate, getting to the quarterback 12.3% of the time. They are expected to have all of their big pass rushers save Kayvon Thibodeaux healthy for this game, so I’ll take the home dog here.

Los Angeles Chargers -7 vs. Las Vegas Raiders

If you’ve noticed a theme this week, I am looking to fade teams that might be on the verge of mailing it in. Las Vegas fits that mold as the team is not responding to Antonio Pierce, and there might be some grumbling after the Raiders traded away Davante Adams. This team has no real playmakers on offense aside from tight end Brock Bowers, and the quarterback situation is not good.

The Los Angeles Chargers have been excellent on defense this season, especially up front. Justin Herbert and Jim Harbaugh are starting to grow more familiar with one another too, so I expect the Chargers to roll on Sunday.
