Discover the latest odds and expert picks for the Sunday Night Football matchup between the Philadelphia Eagles and Los Angeles Rams. Stay informed and bet wisely.
The Philadelphia Eagles are probably the only team that can run down the Detroit Lions for the top spot in the NFC. Philadelphia has won six straight games after a 2-2 start, and the Eagles are 5-1 away from home this season. However, they are only three-point favorites per the NFL betting odds against the 5-5 Los Angeles Rams on Sunday Night Football. The Rams have won four of their last five games, and they were able to defeat both Minnesota and Seattle in that stretch.

Bettors have not come down heavy on one side or the other in this game. Philly is still a field goal favorite, and the line has stayed on that key number all week long. There has been a bit of action on the total though, bumping the over/under north by a point.
Philadelphia Eagles Overview
Jalen Hurts has been one of the best fantasy quarterbacks in the NFL this season. Hurts has run the ball for 417 yards and 11 touchdowns, and he makes a potent tandem with Saquon Barkley. However, he still leaves something to be desired as a passer. The fifth-year quarterback has completed 69.2% of his passes and is averaging 8.4 YPA with 12 touchdowns and five interceptions, but Hurts needs the run game to be successful in order to make things happen off play action.
Barkley has been the best running back in the NFC by a wide margin. He has run for 1,137 yards and eight touchdowns, and he is averaging a very impressive 5.8 YPA. The standout back isn’t a great receiving threat out of the backfield, but he doesn’t need to be as long as Hurts has A.J. Brown, DeVonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert to target in the passing game.
The Eagles’ defense is playing very well. Philadelphia ranks first in total defense and second in yards per play allowed at this point. The pass defense has been the best in the NFL, surrendering just 6.1 YPA and 173.2 YPG through the air. This young defensive front filled with Georgia stars has been great, but the secondary has been even better with Darius Slay leading the way.
Los Angeles Rams Overview
Matthew Stafford has been boom or bust over the last five weeks. Stafford torched New England and Minnesota, throwing four touchdowns against each team, but he has thrown two touchdowns and three interceptions in his other three games during that stretch. The Rams will need Stafford to be at his best if they hope to knock off the Eagles, yet he is in his late 30s and is on the downslope of his career.
Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua are dangerous receivers when healthy, but they haven’t been healthy for much of this campaign. Kupp is averaging 81.3 YPG and Nacua is averaging 74.6 YPG, yet no other Rams’ receiver is averaging more than 40 YPG.
This ground game has left much to be desired. Kyren Williams is averaging just 3.9 YPC, and rookie Blake Corum is averaging just 3.6 YPC to this point. There are still injury concerns on the right side of the offensive line that have limited the ground game’s potential, but this unit has done a decent job of protecting the relatively immobile Stafford.
The Rams have been average against the run, but they are allowing 8.2 YPA. Florida State alums Jared Verse and Braden Fiske have done a decent job getting to the quarterback along with second-year players Kobie Turner and Byron Young. This defense has forced quite a few turnovers too, helping the cause.
Sunday Night Football Prediction
I think this is the toughest Sunday night game to try to handicap this season. The Eagles are a good team that has rattled off a lot of wins, but you beat the Rams through the air, and that’s something Hurts has had a tough time doing in his career. Still, I believe the Eagles’ defense will be effective enough to lead Philly to its seventh straight victory.
Final Score: Philadelphia 27, Los Angeles 23
