I ended up putting a winning 4-2 ATS tally on the board with last weekend’s college basketball best bets. Here’s to adding to the bankroll this weekend! The following are my top rated best bet selections for this weekend’s college hoops betting action.
I ended up putting a winning 4-2 ATS tally on the board with last weekend’s college basketball best bets. The Duke/Louisville game ended up being the low scorer as envisioned, but the Cardinals failed to cover the 7-point point spread even though it was a two-point game with fewer than two minutes remaining. The other loss came with the Arizona Wildcats who sleepwalked their way to the win and non-cover against ASU. Guess they were looking ahead to the rematch with UCLA. Getting us in the winner’s circle were the Michigan State Spartans who pounded Michigan, the Big East leading Providence Friars who eked out the win and cover at home against a game Marquette squad, and the Ohio State Buckeyes who stormed back in the second half to cover and allow for the over to cash in as well. Here’s to adding to the bankroll this weekend! The following are my top rated best bet selections for this weekend’s college hoops betting action – Slam Your Man!!
Saturday CBB Picks
UConn Huskies vs. Villanova Wildcats
This is a quintessential put up or shut up spot for Dan Hurley’s Huskies. They enter this tilt key Big East clash off an outright loss to Creighton as 10+ point home favorites which saw their win streak get snapped at five straight. Villanova will also enter this matchup off a loss to Marquette who handled them with ease from the opening tip. Linemakers will expect them to bounce back in this spot considering they’ve taken four straight from the Huskies (3-1 ATS). Nova should be laying in the neighborhood of 8-points, and I’ll be taking ‘em with Adama Sonogo and company while also sprinkling a taste on the moneyline as well.
St. John’s Red Storm vs. Butler Bulldogs
Julian Champagnie, Posh Alexander and Dylan Addae-Wusu make up one of the best guard trios in the country. They can light the scoreboard up with the best of them, but they don’t play a lick of defense. The Johnnies rank No. 311 in scoring defense and this being the third game played over a five-day stretch will make it even tougher to go into Hinkle and deal with a surging Bulldogs squad. LaVall Jordan’s kids have recently been rounding into form splitting their last four games while going 2-2 ATS with the losses to Xavier and Providence coming by an average of 4.5 points per game. The betting line won’t be more than a possession either way, but I have Butler closer to two possessions better due to current form and scheduling. Back the Bulldogs!
Texas Tech Red Raiders vs. West Virginia Mountaineers
There might not be a more impressive team in the Big 12 right now than that of the Texas Tech Red Raiders. The team seemingly hasn’t skipped a beat under Mark Adams’ watch, and it can be argued that it’s actually playing even better than when Chris Beard overlooked the program. Case in point the handling of their former coach’s Texas Longhorns in Tuesday night’s grudge match in Lubbock. This however is a premiere letdown spot in Morgantown against Huggy Bear’s Mountaineers that currently bring up the rear of the standings and enter this tilt on a six-game losing streak last winning back on January 11 against OK-State. They did however cover last time out against Baylor, and I fully expect Taz Sherman and company to take it a step further in this spot and snag the dub! Beer money that WVU $$$-Line!
Baylor Bears vs. Kansas Jayhawks
It wasn’t mentioned in last week’s piece but the Kentucky Wildcats represented my biggest position of the CBB betting season in their infiltration of the Phog last Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats dominated the paint as expected and got a huge game from Keion Brooks Jr. to allow for the no-sweat outright win and cover. Bill Self was upended in the Phog for only the 16th time throughout his tenure in Lawrence, and the Jayhawks fell out of the top-10 because of it. I bleed crimson and blue and know when to call a spade a spade when it comes to my beloved alma mater. As such, I’m expecting KU to pull out all the stops in this one and take it to a turnover prone Baylor squad that it’s covered three straight against and has only lost to at home once since squaring off every season since ’98 as Big 12 rivals. Ochai Agbaji should be rested and ready for this one after sitting Monday’s clash in Ames out due to COVID protocols. Look for him to have a huge showing and lead KU to victory after shooting blanks against Kentucky last weekend.
Sunday CBB Picks
Wyoming Cowboys vs. Fresno State Bulldogs
I’m playing the spot here more than anything else. Wyoming invades Silicon Valley off a battle for first place with the Boise State Broncos on Thursday night. As exceptional Graham Ike and Hunter Maldonado have been leading the Cowboys No. 28 ranked unit in offensive efficiency per the Pomeroy Ratings, they’ll have their hands full in this letdown spot against a Bulldogs squad that only concedes 57.5 points per game (No. 6) and ranks No. 28 in defensive efficiency. Orlando Robinson is the best big man in the country you’ve never heard of which has me leaning towards taking whatever points linemakers offer up for this matchup. However, the better investment is the under with Fresno holding its MWC opponent’s to an average of just 60.3 points per game when at home. It would’ve been an average of just 54.3 points had Marcus Shaver Jr. not hit the game tying 3-ball at the gun in regulation. First to 60 points wins what should be a closely contested low scoring affair.
