Dan Hurley is one of the most controversial, interesting, and successful head coaches in any sport.  However, times seem to have changed for the UConn Huskies with the college basketball lines. The two-time defending national champions have a target on them.  As a result, every game is a war.  While Connecticut is still an elite program, roster turnover and intense games have taken away some of their wagering value. On Saturday, head coach Dan Hurley and his Huskies will visit the Xavier Musketeers. Initially, casual gamblers will like Xavier in a potential trap game. By contrast, sharps will like UConn with its road team discount and championship pedigree.

UConn and Dan Hurley are something of a black hat program even though they don’t break rules or whatever is sold as rules in today’s NCAA.  Hurley wins praise for his loyalty to UConn after rejecting the blue blood Kentucky Wildcats last spring.  With two consecutive national championships on the resume, Hurley knows he has a good thing going at UConn.  For one thing, he is allowed to run his program with a brutal iron fist. His in-game rants against game officials are legendary.
