We are into the second half of the Major League Baseball season, so we’ll look to hit some parlay winners starting with Sunday, July 16. We have a full schedule of games on Sunday with a number of nationally televised games. The early game on Peacock has the San Francisco Giants at the Pittsburgh Pirates. MLB Network has two games, as they are showing the Los Angeles Dodgers at the New York Mets and the Detroit Tigers at the Seattle Mariners. ESPN+ has the game between the Minnesota Twins and Oakland Athletics and the ESPN night game has the Houston Astros at the Los Angeles Angels. Sunday MLB Parlay Picks
Tampa Bay Rays
Do you remember when the Rays had the best record in the league and Shane McClanahan was the top pitcher? It wasn’t that long ago, but it all came undone when McClanahan had to leave a game against the Royals with back tightness. I think this is where McClanahan gets back to being dominant and it just so happens to be against the team that caused the downfall. Look for the Rays and McClanahan to get a big win on Sunday.
New York Yankees
The Yankees visit the Rockies on Sunday and it should be Gerrit Cole getting the call for New York. He has been the top starting pitcher for the Yankees this season and he comes into this game at 9-2 with a 2.85 ERA. It doesn’t matter to me who the Rockies throw, as none of their starting pitchers worry me. I’ll take the Yankees as the second team in the parlay.
Seattle Mariners
The Mariners are poised to make a run into a Wild Card spot in the American League and that means beating teams like Detroit. We don’t yet know who the Mariners will throw, but it doesn’t matter to me, as Seattle’s starters are all better than whoever Detroit throws out there. It looks like the Tigers will go with Reese Olson who is 1-2 with a 4.05 ERA. I’ll take the Mariners as the last team in the sides parlay.
Sunday MLB Parlay Total Picks
Twins-A’s Under
The Twins and A’s are not two of the higher scoring teams in the league and I don’t expect this matchup in Oakland to have many runs scored. Minnesota is 24th in the league in runs per game and the A’s are dead last. I’ll go under the total with the Twins and A’s as the first game in the totals parlay.
Astros-Angels Over
What has happened to Cristian Javier? If you look at his overall mark he is 7-1 with a 4.34 ERA but if you look closer you will see that he has completely fallen apart of late. In his last three starts he has gone 2.1 innings, 4 innings and 4.1 innings and allowed a total of 18 runs. Tyler Anderson should get the ball for the Angels and even though his record is 4-2 his ERA is 5.25. He hasn’t made it past the 6th inning in any of his last five starts. I’ll go over the total with the Astros and Angels for the second game in the totals parlay.
