Richmond International Raceway is always one of the most thrilling venues on the schedule and being the last race before the Chase for the Sprint Cup. Formerly known as Strawberry Hill, this tri-oval track is three quarters of a mile in length. Richmond International Speedway is considered “America’s Premier Short Track” and is one of the few tracks to hold races under the lights. Denny Hamlin won the Chevy Rock & Roll 400 at Richmond International Raceway, beating Kurt Busch to the checkered flag by 0.38 seconds. Jeff Gordon, Mark Martin and Kyle Busch round out the top 5 in the running order. Denny Hamlin pushed the #11 Toyota to an average speed of 96.601 mph and led 299 of the race's 400 laps, taking home $238,075. The race ran 3:06:20 and saw 12 lead changes. Due to 10 yellow flags, the race spent 56 laps under caution.
