Bank of America 500 renamed its signature race on October 17 at Lowe's Motor Speedway the NASCAR Banking 500. Lowe’s Motor Speedway is an instantly recognizable name for NASCAR betting fans. Also known as the “Beast of the Southeast”. The track itself is a mile and a half.
The Lowe's Motor Speedway was the first major race track to host night races, and was also the first motor speedway to offer condominiums that overlook the race track. These condominiums offer motor race fans the same luxury that has been afforded to avid golfers for decades-the ability to live right where you play.
Lowe's gets the All-Star Race, Coca-Cola 600 and Bank of America 500.
The first race is the NASCAR Sprint All-Star Race on May 16. One week later it's the 50th running of the Coca-Cola 600 on Memorial Day and now, The Bank of America 500 on Oct. 17 completes the trifecta.
NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers visit Lowe's Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Banking 500. As the fifth round of the 10-race Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, the NASCAR Banking 500 is sure to play a pivotal role in deciding the series champion. Recent winners include Jeff Burton, Jeff Gordon, Kasey Kahne and Jimmie Johnson. Bet on the best drivers in NASCAR take on the track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway with the Nextel Cup hanging in the balance.
2009 Banking 500 Results
As Jimmie Johnson achieved perfection Saturday, the rivals trying to prevent him from winning a fourth consecutive championship seemed more fallible than ever.
Johnson qualified first and was fastest in all three practice sessions en route to winning the NASCAR Banking 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway. It was the first "perfect weekend" (a goal set by crew chief Chad Knaus) of the three-time champion's 286-race career, though some took issues with the criteria.
