The annual Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Tournament is a star-studded pro-am on the PGA Tour and is part of the FedEx Cup. It is the third event on the PGA calendar. The 50thAnniversary 2009 Bob Hope Chrysler Classic will be played from 19 to 25 January, in Palm Springs and will, as usual, be hosted by golf legend Arnold Palmer.

The Bob Hope Classic Tournament sponsored is Chrysler Corporation, causing a name change. This has significantly increased the purse for the Bob Hope Chrysler Classic. The Bob Hope Classic Tournament winner can now proudly also drive away in a brand new 2009 Chrysler 300C.
Today, the field is made up of 128 PGA Tour golf professionals and 384 amateurs. For the first four days, three amateurs or celebrities are paired alongside one professional player. The Bob Hope Chrysler Classic Tournament concludes with the fifth round, which is played on a Sunday over the Classic Club Course.

Leonard struggled down the stretch, however, while Trahan closed with a 7-under-par 65 Sunday at The Classic Club to earn his second career PGA Tour victory. The 27-year-old former Clemson star finished the 90-hole event at 26-under 334 at Palm Desert, Calif., to earn a $918,000 first-place check, 4,500 FedEx Cup points and an invitation to play in the Masters.
